Story Club

Supporting your young readers: workshops for parents and carers

Coming this Autumn · Reading and writing for fun at home

Story Club was inspired by the importance of fun when it comes to building confident young readers and writers. We know parents and carers understand that enjoying reading is good, but we also know that life can accidentally turn reading into a chore.

Our workshops give you space to share what's hard and tools for supporting your young reader, whilst keeping it fun.

What to expect from our workshops

Friendly expertise from Lily Eastwood, a trained teacher with over 10 years' experience designing and delivering joyful reading and writing sessions.

Peer support as you hear from other parents and carers in the room, and share your own experiences if you would like.

Time to reflect on what "good reading" is and where our own relationship with reading comes from.

Bite-sized chunks of research that underpin the practices of promoting reading enjoyment.

Practical ideas for reading at home with your child.

Biscuits! We wouldn't want anyone reading hungry.
