About

Fluent in Python and English.

I work at the intersection of strategy, data, and delivery — building foundations that are useful, maintainable, and actually get used.

I started out as an English teacher. The first data system I interacted with was hand-writing pupil grades on a photocopied class list. Schools can feel propelled by targets and I was always curious about the sweet spot where data enhanced impact — and was easier to analyse than a stack of paper.

I moved to a start-up charity with the exhilarating, terrifying freedom to design data solutions from scratch. Hands on, high innovation, low infrastructure.

Over a decade in strategic leadership followed — growing the range and ambition of what we could do with data, making decisions that shaped our impact, and still getting my hands dirty with the actual infrastructure. SQL, Azure, Salesforce, PowerBI.

With every project there was something new I wanted to learn. Self-taught SQL and pipelines first — then committed to an intensive data science and ML bootcamp at Le Wagon, adding Python, TensorFlow, XGBoost, FastAPI and GCP to the toolkit.

I'm also Chair of Trustees for a bereavement service delivering NHS contracts. I'm ever curious about how the not-for-profit and public sector ecosystem fit together — the more I understand it, the more useful I can be inside it.

And yes, I'll come to your team meeting. Or your conference. The teacher never really left.
